Clueless SPAM

I've been getting a good bit of SPAM lately, but one I got this morning takes the cake. It was an invitation to join the AARP. Did you know you can travel more for less with AARP? That's great, except I don't qualify. I suppose they could rationalize that if I can't use it, I'll pass it on to someone who can. Then again, maybe they're staffed by members. They say the memory is the first thing to go. Or is it the hearing? I can't remember. Whichever it is, it's obvious they're just buying cold contact lists.

The irony is that it landed in my mailbox on my birthday. I'm 39 today. I have a good 16 years before I can think about AARP.

Yeah, this takes the cake, all right. The birthday cake.

19793

I did 3,780 words yesterday, in three blocks, and I also went to work for four hours. That's encouraging. Last year I struggled to write and work, and my shifts weren't much longer. The commute was twenty minutes longer one way, which ate into my time. I love low-stress-close-to-home jobs!

It's cold here! It's 30* with a wind chill of 18*. Brr! That's more like it!

Today is the busy day--work this morning, and church (with dinner!) this evening. I guess I'd better get to it.

15437

Normally I'd be rather pleased with that number, given the level of insanity around here lately, and especially given that I lost five days to Mom.

This is not a normal circumstance. It is November 15, and I'm not even half done!!! I'm going to have to work on my birthday (Thursday) and Thanksgiving. No molto bene.

In the good news/bad news department, I finally dragged my lazy butt back to the weight room at the gym. We've been fairly good about walking for cardio, but driving the five miles to get to the gym is impossible some days. So that's the good news. Bad news is that my arms and shoulders are a little stiff.

I did get some solitary retail therapy in last night. I bought two pairs of shoes, some socks, and a lipstick, and I still have a little piece of my allotted money left.

One more thing before I trundle off to dress and get to work. Jean and Val rock! I won't catch up to them this year without a hurricane force tail wind they're going so fast! Go, girls!

Back

I got home about half an hour ago. I got no words in at all while I was gone. Not that I really expected to. Between three nights of interrupted sleep on a leaky air mattress and a total of 18 hours on the road, my brain is fried.

The good news is managed to get some of Mom's Christmas shopping for the kids done, I didn't spend too much money, and I didn't have too many items relocated from her house to mine. I kept it to a minimum; be impressed.

I'm going to get a bite to eat and spend some time with my hubby.
