What a relief to be over the 50k barrier. The book is a mess. It's in tatters but I'm calling the first draft done. I'll spend the next week or so getting caught up on the
How To Think Sideways lessons I've skimmed this month and then I'll see about patching the story together. I'm happy with what I have so far, and I've enjoyed working on it. I think I'll enjoy working on it more at a slower pace, though.
One thing I did differently this year was I went out to a couple of NaNo write-ins. I had a heck of a time finding this group. When I searched the boards for Illinois, nearly everything was in or near Chicago. The Southern IL region is massive but there is a group that meets regularly near me, even when it's not November. They were full of good tips--thanks, guys!
Today would be the perfect day to curl up with a latte and my laptop in front of the fire to goof off, but I can't just yet. I have to take Vicky driving. I hope we get snow today, but not until later.
